Whether it's a birthday, graduation, anniversary, or a simple gesture of appreciation, an honorary gift is a meaningful way to recognize someone important in your life while supporting students on their spiritual journey..
We will gladly notify the individual (or their family) of your thoughtful gift—just include their contact information in the notes section of the online form or along with your check in an envelope.

Memorial Gifts
Honor a loved one’s legacy with a memorial gift.
A memorial gift is a meaningful way to pay tribute to someone who has passed while supporting the mission and ministry of the Catholic Student Union. Your gift ensures their memory lives on through the formation and faith of future generations.
You may also designate the Catholic Student Union as the beneficiary of gifts made in memory of your loved one. We are honored to provide suggested language for obituaries or funeral programs upon request.
If you'd like us to notify a family member of your memorial gift, please include their name and contact information under notes in the donation form or include a note in your envelope.

Gifts from Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
If you have a Donor-Advised Fund (DAF), you can easily make a gift to CSU through your fund. Please contact your DAF provider and request a grant to the Catholic Student Union. When submitting the grant, be sure to include our details:

Qualified Charitable Contributions
A Qualified Charitable Contribution (QCD) is a tax-advantaged way for individuals aged 70½ or older to donate directly from their Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) to a qualified charity, such as the Catholic Student Union. With a QCD, you can transfer up to $100,000 annually directly from your IRA to CSU without the distribution being included in your taxable income. This means you can avoid paying income taxes on the donated amount, while still satisfying your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the year. A QCD can be a smart strategy to support CSU while potentially reducing your taxable income, making it a powerful option for those looking to make a lasting impact on the campus ministry.
