At Catholic Noles—the Catholic Student Union at Florida State University is a ministry of the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More in the Diocese of Pensacola-Tallahassee.  Rooted in our Catholic values, we take seriously the trust you place in us, and we aim to be transparent about how we collect, use, and safeguard your personal information.The Catholic Student Union is committed to protecting the privacy and dignity of every student, donor, and visitor we serve, this document is is not meant to be a comprehensive list of all privacy practices, instead, it is meant to outline information of interest to our constituents.

 

Information We Collect

We collect personal information when you provide it directly—for example, when you register for an event, sign up for our newsletter, make a donation, or submit a request. In these instances, we may collect your name, contact information, and any details relevant to your involvement.

In addition, when you visit our website or social media pages, we may gather some basic technical information automatically, such as your IP address, browser type, or which pages you visit. This helps us improve our website and social media accounts, and better understand how visitors interact with our content. We may also use third-party tools and platforms—such as email marketing software or fundraising databases and email marketing software (Blackbaud & Constant Contact) —which help us communicate more effectively and track engagement.  Both these vendors are regulated and in compliance with privacy and security laws.  

 

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to fulfill our mission: to support students in their journey of faith and to invite others to partner with us. This may include sending event invitations, acknowledging gifts, sharing ministry updates, or following up on requests. We may also use information to analyze trends, improve outreach, or track participation in our programs.

 

Your information is treated with care and used only for purposes that support our ministry. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with outside parties for marketing purposes.

 

Donor Privacy

We value and respect the generosity of our donors. To that end, Catholic Noles utilized sophisticated fundraising software that is PCI compliant.  Catholic Noles does not sell or rent donor information. While Catholic Noles is always excited about celebrating the generosity of our donors, donors always have the option to remain anonymous.   Catholic Noles encourages donors to communicate their gift acknowledgement expectations to the director of development.  Any recognition of donors—such as in print or online materials is respectful of each donor's preferences in regards to public recognition.

 

All donation records are kept confidential and secure. Only authorized staff have access to this information, and we use secure systems to process and store financial data.

 

Student Privacy

We understand the importance of confidentiality when it comes to student involvement—especially in matters of faith, counseling, or spiritual support. Participation in events, retreats, and ministry programs is kept private within our pastoral and campus ministry team. We do not share information about students without consent, except when legally required or when pastoral care responsibilities dictate otherwise.

If we learn that we have inadvertently gathered such information, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
