Welcome Back, Sr. Isabelle!
A familiar face returns to Catholic Noles with a heart to serve.

This fall, Catholic Noles welcomes back a familiar face—Sr. Isabelle, T.O.R.—who first walked through the doors of the Catholic Student Union as a freshman high performing music major at FSU over a decade ago. Now, she returns not as a student, but as a religious sister, ready to walk with today’s students just as others once walked with her.

“Catholic Student Union is where my faith grew. It was the place where my faith kicked up several notches, where I first began to own my faith,” she shared.

After graduating in 2017, she served as a missionary in campus ministry at Seton Hall University, and then entered the Franciscan Sisters, T.O.R. of Penance of the Sorrowful Mother in 2019, offering all her gifts, including her classically trained voice to the service of the Lord.

Sr. Isabelle recently completed her first assignment, ministering to college students participating in Franciscan University’s Study Abroad program in Austria—an experience that deepened her readiness to return and serve here at CSU.
“Walking back into CSU as a sister feels like a huge full circle moment,” she said.
This year, Sr. Isabelle joins our campus ministry team, supporting students in their spiritual journeys through spiritual direction, accompaniment, and music ministry.

With a love of practicing many languages including Italian, French, German and her family’s native English and Swahili, Sr. Isabelle brings not only pastoral gifts but a deep love of nurturing talent in others. In her free time, she enjoys song-writing, playing piano and guitar, spending quiet moments in prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, enjoying nature, playing sports, and reading.

When asked about her hopes as she comes back to CSU, Sr. Isabelle said, “ I look forward to being present to the students, walking with them as they discover their identity in Christ.”

We’re so grateful to have Sr. Isabelle back with us—and we invite you to keep her in your prayers as she begins this next chapter in ministry. Stay tuned later this year to hear more of her story.
