New Year, New Friends, Stronger Faith

Hi! I'm Kate Ruona, and I’m honored to serve as Catholic Noles’ Hospitality Ambassador this year! My role is to welcome new students, help them feel at home, and guide them into all the amazing Catholic opportunities we offer for them at Florida State. As the new semester approaches, this is our busy season—and one of the most exciting times of the year!

In addition to tabling at the Student Union during student orientations, we’ll kick off the fall with one of our favorite traditions: Welcome Week! Whether it’s playing sports on Landis, joining the Welcome Back Cookout with games and music, or simply meeting new friends, we want every new student to experience what makes Catholic Noles so special.
We also host Freshman Day, an orientation just for first-year students. It’s a fun and faith-filled day where students get helpful tips on navigating campus life, connect with like-minded peers, and enjoy outdoor activities like canoeing and swimming—all while growing closer to Christ.

Please keep us in prayer as we welcome new students. With over 1,000 students strong, the Catholic Noles community is a place to grow, build lifelong friendships, and deepen faith.
