The Doors Are Open
Move-in week begins August 15, and the Co-Cathedral will be ready with an open invitation to every student and family arriving in Tallahassee.
Every August, Tallahassee fills up again. Cars packed to the roof pull into residence hall lots. Parents carry boxes up stairwells. Students begin arranging dorm rooms, walking unfamiliar sidewalks, and wondering where they will belong.
We want them to know: they already have a home here.
As families arrive for move-in and Welcome Week, the doors of the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More and Catholic Student Union are open. There is no registration required to walk in, come to Mass, pray in the chapel, or meet the community.
To every parent unloading a car this August: before you make the drive home, come to Mass with your student.

Saturday Vigil Mass on August 15 will be celebrated at 5:15 p.m. Sunday Masses on August 16 are at 8:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m., with the 5:00 p.m. Mass serving as the Catholic Noles Student Mass. If you are here during the week, come by for daily Mass either at 7:00 a.m. or 5:15 p.m. beginning on Monday, August 17. The 8 p.m. Sunday Student Mass returns August 23.
Experience together the beautiful Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More that is already your student’s spiritual home whenever they need to be close to God. Stay a while. Find the chapel inside the Catholic Student Union. Step into the student lounge, where students can find a cozy place to hang out, meet friends, or study between classes.
Catholic Noles student leaders, FOCUS missionaries, our resident priests, and CSU staff will be nearby throughout the week to welcome new faces. Students who find us during those first days often tell us it made all the difference. The friendships that carry them through four years begin with one simple yes to an invitation, one familiar face, or a bowl of ice cream after Sunday Mass.
Visiting the Catholic Student Union is just the beginning. All week long, students can drop in, meet each other, and get a taste of the Catholic Noles community — no commitment required.
Monday, August 17 — Daily Mass returns. The 5:15 p.m. daily Mass starts back, restoring the rhythm of the semester as students return to campus.
Wednesday, August 19 — Sports on Landis Green, 7:00 p.m. Bring your sneakers, pick a team, make some friends.
Friday, August 21 — BBQ & Music at St. Thomas More, 7:00 p.m. By Friday, the boxes are unpacked, the hugs goodbye are still fresh, and students are somewhere between missing home and the excitement of everything just beginning. That’s exactly when we fire up the grill. Come for the food and the music, stay for the people.
Saturday, August 22 — Freshmen Retreat, 11:45 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. An afternoon away to meet other new students and start the year grounded. Register on our website under “Start Here.”
Sunday, August 23 — Student Masses return in full. Catholic Noles Masses at 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., with an ice cream social at 6:00 p.m. between the two. Come to one Mass, stay for ice cream, meet the community.
