Building Faith and Friendships: A Day at the Beach with Catholic Noles
By Sam Nunnally
This past weekend, Catholic Noles caravaned down to beautiful St. George Island for a beach day. Under perfectly sunny skies, about 20 students enjoyed the beach and each other's company, making memories that will undoubtedly become cherished parts of their college experience.
Summertime may move at a slower pace here at Catholic Noles, as we primarily focus on planning and preparation for the exciting year ahead. However, it's also a crucial time for building community, especially for our freshmen who begin classes early during the summer term. We've seen countless meaningful friendships blossom simply by getting these summer term freshmen together throughout June and July.

It was heartwarming to watch our freshmen connect with each other, exchange contact information, and start friendships that will support and sustain them throughout their journey at Florida State.
From parents, I often hear a common concern: "Will my student make good friends who can help them stay strong in their faith?"
After this weekend, I can confidently say to those parents—the answer is a resounding yes! Your students are thriving, making friends, and laying the foundations for lasting relationships rooted in faith and community.
After about five hours of fun in the sun - taking on waves, throwing the football, suntanning, and playing spike ball - the Catholic Noles packed it in after a day of stress-free beach life.
Thank you for trusting your students into our care. As I always like to say, we're catechizing your students not just in faith, but preparing them for life. Fun days like this are an essential part of that process. Go Noles!
